This.Is.Old.Trafford's Got Your Back, Ronnie
I've had enough of reading all the anti-ronaldo crap for the past week from both united and non united fans alike and well its gettin rather old now. Trust the english press to make ronnie the scapegoat for englands exit when clearly the english team was'nt good enough and with regard to the incident in question it was clearly rooneys fuckin fault. Here are the facts: Rooney stamped on Carvalho's balls and then Ronaldo who was a mere meter away came running to his mates aid and protested to the referee. (like any other player would have done in such a high profile match) Rooney took offence and shoved ronaldo and ronaldo didnt react nor retaliate in any way, kept his cool and went on protesting with the ref who immediately sent Rooney off. Rooney blew his top like always and for some reason, the English press and supporters are not going to villify him as they did to David Beckham in 1998. Are the press afraid of him for some reason? If the blame had to go on someone, its gotta be rooney and not ronaldo. It was his fault and his fault alone. If he wasn't going to be sent off for the stomp, then pushing Ronaldo so furiously was surely going to be the final straw. The referee's now clarified all the doubt and said he sent rooney off for the stamp and not for the shove. Ronaldo in no way pleaded to the referee for a card nor did he go on brandishing an imaginary card with his hands as what most players do these days. He did nothing of the sort. And then came the dreaded penalty shootout where Ronaldo sent England packing with a rather confidently struck penalty kick. He succeeded where the 3 english players succumbed to the pressure. (Gerrard, Lampard, Carragher) Its funny how one a Chelskian cunt and the other 2 are fucking scousers. Hey, if you're gonna blame someone, for fucks sake blame fucking Lampard for coming up with jack shit in each of the 5 games played. How here's why I'd like to see him in Old Trafford this coming season. Ronaldo is a fighter, he fights for the cause of the shirt he wears, just as Heinze does for the argentinians or any other united player does for their respective nations for the matter. How many players are there who keep getting fouled and booed like Ronaldo and yet do not succumb to the pressure but instead keep getting up after every tackle and keep going at the opposition. Against the dutch i lost count of the number of knocks ronaldo picked up. First van bommel strucked him and then Boulharuz came in with his studs up right into Ronaldo's thigh. He didnt give up then, looked completely unfazed when most players would have reacted and lost the plot but no, not ronaldo he realized how important the game was for his nation and got on with it. He's got all the attributes thats going to make him a United legend 1 day. I'm sure of it. When the game is on the knife's edge and the pressures boiling down, only the truly great players have the courage to demand the ball and step up and make something happen to win the game. Ronaldo in my humble opinion is one of those players. Even Rooneys just the same, the same exact qualities. Both have the potential to be great. Both of them possess such fine attributes that most players would be dying to have. How many young players right now have their potential to achieve greatness? How many clubs can have two at the same time? Over the past three years, Ronaldo has improved in getting his teammates into play. Th ere will always be the odd indiscretion or poor decision but nobody is perfect. Even Best gets heckled by Charlton when he overindulges himself, but all of us adore Best because he can win matches for the team and with style to boot. Ronaldo has also cut out a lot of his diving when playing for us. Not completely but a lot, Fergie has recognised that, so do I. I certainly don't expect Ronaldo to be Keano-esque, Giggs-esque nor even Neville-esque. These are the players who are a dying breed who do not play the game for the riches and the wealth but for the love of the game and for the love of the clubs they supported as kids. Their only desire were to play at Old trafford. These days, the vast majority of players have personal ambitions with regards to trophies, money, sponsorships, endorsements and would definitely want to play for a few clubs in perhaps different countries before they hang up their boots. Ronaldo is definitely not 1 of these players and will never be. Lets look at players like Rooney and Smithy whom both are lifelong everton and leeds fans respectively. They however, left their hometown clubs to fulfill ambitions about winning trophies and hence joined us. That has not deterred them from giving us sub par performances at any point. They always give it their all no matter who we're playing be it their hometown clubs or not. They proffesionals who know 1 thing 1 thing only and thats winning. They fight for our cause now not only cause we're playing their wages but also cause they naturally are fighters and winners, just as Ronaldo is. Now we can be sure Ronaldo's gonna be massarcred by the fans and press alike once he's back in england but i certainly do hope the united fans do not give him any stick and stand by him as we did with Beckham in 98 and Keane in 2002. Sir Alex sure has to put his years of wisdom and experience to good use now in sorting out the dispute between Ronnie and Ronaldo so that it doesnt have any negative effect in the dressing room and on the pitch. Now that thats all said and done, if Real Madrids willing to break the bank for ronnie and if they offer a world record transfer fee, id personally drive him down to Madrid. Heh.
