Smith's Off To Cardiff City On Loan
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has granted Cardiff permission to bring Alan Smith to Ninian Park on loan. The Bluebirds, who currently top the Coca-Cola Championship table, must now wait to see if the forward agrees to make the step down a division.
Tackled By The Red Devil at 8:35 PM,Smith has struggled to break into Ferguson's first-team plans since returning to action in August after recovering from a broken ankle in February's FA Cup defeat by Liverpool. The former Leeds forward has made just four appearances for United this season and could increase his chances of regular first-team action as he looks to regain peak fitness. A spokesman for City said: "We have made an inquiry to Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson has granted the loan. It is now down to the player." I didnt see this one coming. This can only mean one thing tho, Fergies definitely got someone lined up to join us once the transfer window opens in January. With Ole out injured and Rossi only due back in the new year and if this loan deal does indeed go through we'd be left with just 2 strikers in the first team. I'll be shitting my pants in the games to come whenever Saha and Rooney go down under a challenge. Having said that, it might just be a good move for Smithy and his quest to regain full fitness. With us out of the Carling cup, i honestly dont see him getting any games with the first team. It remains to be seen if he'll accept the offer and take a step down to the championship. 0 Fancy Pitting Your Footballing Knowledge Against Mine? |
